Another Monday Night

Watermark, Ventura’s most interesting restaurant, is slated to open today (Tuesday, August 12).  Years and millions of dollars in the making, Watermark will be a destination dining attraction the likes of which have not been seen in this area ever before.  Mark Hartley, who for the past ten years has been quietly buying up properties, beautifying them and adding to the local flavor, has in recent months stepped into a whole new league.  Watermark is the apex of his efforts to date and is truly something to behold.

Three stories tall, with an old word feeling downstairs and a modern chic top level, the restaurant certainly sets a new level in the region.

Last night’s event, which was billed as a warm up leading to tonight’s opening, was well attended by local business and restaurant owners.  Everyone was in good spirits.  Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, along with his son Stephen, who is COO and V.P of the team, were on hand as well.  The Cowboys, which will end their 2008 training camp today in Oxnard, stopped by to tour the restaurant.
